The Planning Department released the first draft for the new Residential Design Guidelines at a public hearing on May 22, 2003. The Guidelines have been redesigned to enable project sponsors and their designers to respond better to neighborhood character and assist neighbors and community groups in reviewing  these designs.

The Planning Department is inviting public comment on the current draft, which is available at www.sfgov.org/planning. The proposed Guidelines will be presented again at the Planning Commission’s July 24 hearing, when there will be further public comment.

A Planning Department representative will discuss the draft with PHRA Directors at their July 7 meeting.
