The
Pacific Heights Residents Association (PHRA) is a non-profit, member-supported,
volunteer group of residents interested in maintaining the quality of
life and the residential character of Pacific Heights within the borders
of Union to
Bush streets, Presidio to Van Ness Avenues. PHRA
was
organized in April 1972. The volunteer fourteen member Board
of Directors and Association members work for the best interest
of our residents. Those interests and
concerns include:

Support of planning and building codes and controls
-
Attention to proposed citywide residential zoning
changes
-
Monitoring of applications for new construction and
alterations
-
Attention to commercial and institutional intrusions
such as half-way houses, bed & breakfast, bars,
hospitals, schools, etc.

Transportation issues -MUNI
-
Public safety and police
-
And More.
We support, advise and assist our neighbors involved in
zoning complexities or controversies. We work closely with
the Department of City Planning. We testify regularly
before the Planning Commission and the Board of Supervisors.
Social events are planned during the year and include the
Annual Fall Members Meeting. Members also receive the
association's newsletter, Pacific Heights News.

Please note that we no longer accept
Condominium Association memberships, only individual per
household memberships within a condominium
building.
