America's Cup
There are 2 separate environmental
impact assessments of the proposed America’s Cup series:
First, there is the study conducted by San Francisco, based on
the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). You can find
detailed information at the Planning Departments Environmental
Planning page (www.sf-planning.org/index.aspx?page=1828).
This announcement refers to the second environmental assessment,
which looks at the impact on areas under Federal jurisdiction.
America's Cup 34 Public Scoping Meetings
Pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act, the National
Park Service and the U.S. Coast Guard, in cooperation with the
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Presidio Trust, are
preparing an Environmental Assessment (EA) to analyze the
potential effects of the 34th America’s Cup sailing races on the
lands and waters administered by the federal government. You are
invited to participate in the scoping process for the project by
attending one of the public meetings, reviewing the documents on
the internet at (www.parkplanning.nps.gov/AC34), and submitting
comments online. Public scoping meetings will be held on:
Wednesday, August 17, 4:30-6:30 p.m.
Bay Model Visitor Center,
2100 Bridgeway, Sausalito
Thursday, August 18, 7:00-9:00 p.m.
Golden Gate Club, 135 Fisher Loop
Main Post in the Presidio, San Francisco

Comments on the scoping of the project will be most helpful if
received by September 7th, 2011.
